Here’s some exciting news for this week!

• Bible Study and Gift Exchange!
  As we near finals season, let’s gear up again with our Kairos 1 Bible Study this Friday! This week, we’re having it at Rick and Sue’s place in Alameda for a change. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift so we can exchange gifts after Bible Study!

  When: Rides will be at Dana House (2447 Dana St.) at 6pm

• Angel Tree Sponsorship Signup
  “Right now, an estimated 1.5 million children have a mom or dad in prison. Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other. In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” There are children right in your community who are among the most at-risk children in the nation. Angel Tree provides an opportunity to connect with those families and begin ministering to them at Christmas and then continue through a variety of year-round ministry opportunities. Angel Tree Christmas works by connecting parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts. In most cases, local church volunteers purchase and deliver gifts and the gospel to children in the name of their prisoner-parent.”

  What is Angel Tree at Gracepoint?
  Every year, our church sponsors a number of children in the Oakland area, bringing both the joy of God’s love and Christmas presents on behalf of their inmate parents. Last year, we sponsored 72 children and over 50 came to our Christmas party. Because of the large turn out of sponsors last year, we’ve increased our number to over 100 children this year!

  How do I get involved?
  

  Kairos 1 is going to be sponsoring 2 children! We will need $40 gifts for each (one being an article of clothing). Let us know if you’d like to participate, and we can go shopping for the gifts and will be splitting the costs of the gifts. We’ll also be wrapping the gifts and inviting them to a Christmas party where they will receive their gifts from Santa Clause!
